## Abstract

WIA-EDU-006 defines a comprehensive standard for virtual classroom platforms, covering video streaming, interactive collaboration tools, breakout room management, attendance tracking, and real-time engagement analytics. This standard enables interoperability between educational technology platforms and provides best practices for delivering high-quality online learning experiences.

## 1. Introduction

### 1.1 Purpose

This standard provides:
- Unified APIs for virtual classroom components
- Video and audio streaming specifications
- Interactive whiteboard protocols
- Breakout room management standards
- Attendance and engagement tracking frameworks
- LMS integration specifications

### 1.2 Scope

This standard applies to:
- K-12 and higher education institutions
- Corporate training platforms
- Online tutoring services
- Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs)
- Virtual workshops and webinars
