## Overview

WIA-EDU-021 defines a comprehensive standard for immersive educational media, encompassing VR/AR/XR content creation, delivery, and experiences. This standard enables institutions worldwide to create transformative learning experiences using 360° video, 3D visualization, spatial audio, haptic feedback, and immersive storytelling.

### What is Immersive Media?

Immersive media creates the sense of being physically present in non-physical environments through:

- 🎥 **360° Video** - Spherical video capturing every direction simultaneously
- 📐 **3D Visualization** - Interactive models and scientific visualizations
- 🔊 **Spatial Audio** - 3D positional sound creating realistic soundscapes
- 🎮 **Haptic Feedback** - Touch and force feedback for multisensory learning
- 📖 **Immersive Storytelling** - Narrative-driven educational experiences
- 🥽 **VR/AR/XR Support** - Cross-platform compatibility across devices

## Quick Start

### Interactive Demo

Try our live simulator:
```bash
open index.html
# or visit: https://wia.edu/standards/immersive-media/
```

### TypeScript SDK

```bash
npm install @wia/immersive-media
```

```typescript
import { ImmersiveMedia } from '@wia/immersive-media';
// Initialize
const im = new ImmersiveMedia({
  apiKey: 'your-api-key',
  region: 'us-west-1',
  quality: 'high'
});
// Create 360° video experience
const video = im.create360Video({
  source: 'ancient-rome-tour-8k.mp4',
  projection: 'equirectangular',
  stereoMode: 'top-bottom',
  controls: true
});
await video.play();
// Add interactive hotspots
video.addHotspot({
  position: { yaw: 45, pitch: 10 },
  content: 'The Colosseum - Built 70-80 AD',
  type: 'info'
});
// Create 3D model
const model = im.create3DModel({
  source: 'dna-molecule.glb',
  position: [0, 1.5, -2],
  animations: ['rotate', 'unwind']
});
await model.load();
model.playAnimation('rotate', true);
// Spatial audio
const audio = im.createSpatialAudio({
  environment: 'classroom',
  reverb: 0.3
});
audio.addSource({
  id: 'narrator',
  position: [0, 1.7, 2],
  audio: 'narration.mp3',
  volume: 0.8
});
console.log('Immersive experience ready!');
```
